Jayden Kelly delivered a statement performance at the 6 Hours of Portimão, securing his first GT3 victory and first endurance race win in commanding fashion alongside Zac Meakin and Louis Prette with Greystone GT.
The weekend began in dramatic conditions at the iconic Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, where rain turned qualifying into a test of control. The team rose to the challenge, mastering the soaked circuit to secure pole position for the #44 Greystone GT McLaren in a fiercely contested session with Jayden recording the only sub-two-minute qualifying laptime in his group.
From lights out, the #44 launched cleanly and immediately controlled proceedings, Kelly holding firm at the head of the field. With clear air in front of him, Jayden delivered a great performance to hand over the car for the first driver change with a 26-second gap to second place already gained.
The six-hour contest proved anything but straightforward. Changeable, damp conditions kept teams guessing, while a mid-race Safety Car was deployed following an on-track spin that compressed the field and reignited the fight at the front.
A scheduled pit stop shuffled the order temporarily, but the #44 crew executed flawlessly. Jayden and the team methodically worked their way back to the front, slicing through traffic.
While intense battles unfolded throughout the pack, the #44 remained clinical when it mattered most, consistently clearing slower cars and responding to pressure without drama.
As the chequered flag fell, the #44 crossed the line to seal a breakthrough victory for Greystone GT, Jayden and his teammates.
Jayden Kelly said:
"To take my first GT3 win and first endurance victory here in Portimão is incredibly special. The conditions made it a real challenge all weekend, especially in qualifying, but the car was mega and the team executed everything perfectly. Six hours is never easy, particularly with changing weather and a Safety Car to manage, but we stayed focused, managed traffic well and kept our heads. I’m proud of everyone involved."
